About Fulcrum Investment Network

"Give me a Lever Long enough and a place to stand and I will move the world". That was a quote from Archimedes about 2200 years ago. He was describing the power of leverage. The turning point which makes leverage possible is called the fulcrum.Fulcrum Investment Strategies started as an idea that the "turning point" in taking action in personal financial matters centered around a few key points:

1. That no one is going to pay as much attention to your life savings as you are.
2. That investing time in improving your financial literacy is the best way to gain the confidence to take action
3. That no one person is smarter than a group of people--There is a great deal of wisdom in the collective experiences of individuals.
4. That you learn more from your failures than you do from your successes
5. That social networking technology is a fantastic way to allow others to leverage your experiences--and for you to leverage the experience of others.

This idea was born out of a strategic partnership between myself Steve Heideman and my partner John Park as we were assisting others with understanding the benefits of private commercial real estate investments.

We quickly realized that there is great promise in creating a community in which investment ideas can be shared, discussed, and analyzed by those who have gained experience in investing in different asset classes, partnering with companies that are committed to the education of their clients and partners about the value that they bring to the table, and allowing those who wish to learn a place to do so.

As the community evolves, we hope to be a conduit for the democritization of information about what it means to be an investor and create a conversation about all of the possibilites available to us.
